Fountain News Improvements & Updates Concourse Fountain - The newly completed design and construction of the water feature converted the reflecting pool to a dry basin with a water display jetting up from a new concrete floor. (Completion: September, 2002) Rose Garden Fountain - Loose Park - The Rose Society raised over $750,000 to design and build a new center fountain in the Rose Garden at Loose Park. Other improvements are new walks and reproofing the entry shelter. (Dedication: August 27, 2002) Swope
Memorial Fountain - Restoration of the Swope Memorial and Fountain
will include a new recirculation pump, water supply lines and drain lines
giving this historical fountain a renewed water display. (Completion:
November, 2002) New Fountains Mill Creek Water Feature - The creation of a small water feature at the former location of a spring in Mill Creek Park was funded by the Mill Creek Park Association. The small pool, water falls, overlook an area and aquatic landscaping. (Completion: September, 2002) Sixth District Fountain - A preferential location has been identified for a new fountain in the Sixth Councilmanic District. The site is in Minor Park, near the golf course clubhouse, to be visible to passersby on Holmes Road and appreciated by visitors to the Minor Park golf course. (Design direction: September, 2002) Shoal Creek Parkway Fountain - The reflecting pool in the median of Shoal Creek Parkway, south of the golf course entry. It is designed similar to the pools on Ward Parkway. The pool is edged in limestone and has a central fountain display. (Completion: October, 2002)
