Volunteer to help our fountains and sculptures
Help survey new fountains and sculptures
Kansas City Adopt A Monument offers training to individuals interested in helping survey new fountains and sculptures as they are added to cities in the metropolitan area. Teams of two work together to gather information, measure, and photograph new outdoor public art. These surveys will be used to add information to our website and will be sent to the Smithsonian for inclusion in their Inventory of American Art database.
Clean our sculptures and monuments
If your neighborhood sculptures are covered with dirt and moss, professional conservators will provide all materials needed to help you and other volunteers clean your outdoor public art. We will schedule a time when it is convenient for you and offer our volunteers to assist if needed.
Give guided walking tours of Plaza fountains and sculpture
Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, out of town visitors, local students and many membership organization like to have walking tours of the historic Country Club Plaza. Our volunteers are trained to give factual information that can supplement school curriculum or provide an added attraction to their visit to our city. We combine the wonderful architecture of the Plaza and their incredible collection of art in our one hour tours.
Celebrate our 40th Anniversary
Volunteers are needed to help plan and implement an event in the spring of 2013. We will be showcasing several of the cities most beautiful fountains and will need assistance with tours and special events.
