This larger-than-life bronze statue is of Ilus Winfield Davis, a former mayor of Kansas City.  It is located in the southwest corner of the park that bears his name across the street from City Hall.  It was funded by many contributors and placed in the park in 2004.

The sculpture depicts Mayor Davis dressed in a three-piece suit with the coat open.  He has his hands in his pants pockets.  He is standing with his weight on his right leg while his left leg is slightly bent and his left foot is pointing to the left.  His head is facing slightly right and he is wearing reading glasses.  The statue is approximately nine feet tall.
